Our Clinic

08 Feb - 2019

We believe that the best way for swimmers to learn and develop their stroke is if they are excited, engaged and interested. Our clinics have small numbers which enables the coaching team to spend quality time with each individual. We take a genuine interest in their stories and experiences as this helps us to paint a picture of the swimmers goals, ambitions as well as their learning style.

No two swimmers are the same. What works for one might not work for another. As coaches we need to understand that just because we have had success with a drill or style of swimming in the past, doesn't mean it is going to be relevant to the next person. Not every swimmer wants to go to the olympics - and that is important to remember.

During our clinics we use video analysis. This enables us to show the swimmer the small details of their stroke. It also gives us the opportunity to test the swimmers thinking. Why should we be doing that part of the stoke? Why is this phase not efficient? By engaging with swimmers in this way, they absorb the information better and most importantly retain it. After the session, we put together all the videos and analysis in to one handy video which is sent to the swimmer as a point of reference for the future.

There is no such thing as an elite 12 year old. Our clinics are not elite and never will be.
